When Tony and I rolled into San Francisco late Thursday night we were pretty tired but excited. Even the trip over was a bit adventurous, courtesy of a late day at work and our beloved Los Angeles traffic. To make a long story short, we actually squeaked into a flight we were already resigned to missing.

Tony was busy for part of Friday, so I wandered around the ferry building and took some pictures. The weather was gorgeous, moody but dry, with patches of glorious sun. A day wandering around San Francisco can look a little something like this.

Pacman on building windows and funny, toothy statues, how could I resist taking pictures?
me: Tony, can you come a little closer please? Ok.. good. Can you tilt your head a little this way? Make a face.
Tony: Like this?
me: Yes, perfect. <click>
Tony: What was that for?
me: ... nothing.

The man inside smiled and waved after he caught me snapping a shot. Tony still thinks I am a stalker. But don't leave doors open where I can peek inside them if you don't want your picture taken.

All in all, it was a pleasant (partially rainy) weekend around the Bay area filled with good friends and good food. I got to see Kelly and Andrew's fabulous pad, tried to "read" a book to a toddler, and had my Hong Kong style food craving fulfilled. On Sunday we boarded back onto the plane and bid adieu... for now. :)

Stasia's mom likes to say that Stasia is a very equal opportunity baby, kiss one and she'll kiss them all (even stuffed animals are not exempted). We very much loved hanging out with this little person and the rest of her awesome family.
More San Francisco pics to come soon!
Hehe... she loved hanging out with you too! (And so did we ;)) Love how you captured her kissing the monkey! Thanks!!

I met up with Helen and Jeff in one of my favorite cities, San Francisco. Helen first contacted me last year, even though their wedding is not until September of this year. Amazing planning, right? I wish I had been that on top of everything for my wedding. Rain was off and on the whole weekend, but amazingly cleared up just in time for their engagement. Helen and Jeff met while attending University of San Francisco, so it was fitting that we shot their engagement there. Plus it doesn't hurt that there are some nice hidden spaces known by these two savvy USF grads.

They are really cute together. They couldn't stop smiling.

Great photos, Phoebe! I love all the sweet moments you captured!

This landmark event for this (almost) toddler was probably one of the best first year birthday parties I have ever been to. The recipe for this success? You need to add one smart little outfit, some tasty cupcakes shaped into a cute little caterpillar, a playground with plenty of places to crawl, slide, and play, and a fun, festive, gathering of friends and family to celebrate with.
I had the privilege of photographing Isaac starting from three months of age when they took a chance on this (then) newbie photographer, and it has been quite a joy watching this family grow together. A few oldies but goodies - Isaac at three months and six months:

And now he's one!
It was also amazing to meet their wonderful family and friends, and be able to capture sweet little moments from the stuffed animal birthday present that was a huge hit with Isaac to pictures of Isaac enjoying his birthday cake (as evidenced by his face).
Here are just a few of the pictures from that day.

How adorable!!

"Oh won't these photographers go away..?" The poor groomsmen head off for a drink to relax and of course we can't resist following them.

The whole bridal party was a lot of fun to work with, they were game for almost anything, and made our work really easy. I love the bridesmaid dresses with pockets!

Tiffany and Cody's wedding reception was held at a beautiful yacht in Newport. Despite the rain, everything came out beautifully. I love the small touches and details that the whole family put together to make the wedding special for Tiffany and Cody. The ship was named Destiny, and Kelly and I both caught a picture of the adorable ringbearer peeking over the side.

After a few comments I thought I'd clarify, they offered both champagne and apple cider. She is, of course, drinking apple cider (so did we, for the record).

The faces of the Cody and his family were very sweet when an emotional Tiffany walked down the aisle.

The dance floor opened up for the father-daughter and mother-son dances, but a few kiddies decided to jump the gun.

Tiffany and Cody's guests partied it up for the rest of the trip and showed no signs of stopping even when the boat started docking. It was a very fun night to watch and be a part of.

Their wedding was truly a joining of families, and it was so heartwarming to see how joyful everyone was. Kelly and I were so glad to be able to witness and capture this day. Tiffany and Cody, thank you for having us! Hope you guys are having an awesome time in Europe (though of course you are!).
Love the Land Ho! pic and of course the cute little Asian girl. The picture of the father during the dance is so heartwarming!

Lovely. :) Thanks for the tip about Hyde Street Pier. I visited last week, but they had already closed the gates. I'll have to check it out again soon.
See you on Sunday!
(02.11.10)Wow, those were some nice shots from the plane! Maybe I'll try to stay awake next time we fly up to SF so I won't miss the views. :-)
(02.15.10)I like the beached rowboat. Did you make the oar stroke marks in the sand? Very quirky. :)
(02.23.10)Thanks! They were actually already there when we got there, otherwise it would have been very tempting to sit inside the boat and add them in! :)
(02.25.10)Hey I worked on putting in those sculptures?? at 555 mission street plaza!!
